Next order of business: Terrific entries! Congratulations to Artis Van Roekel Reis for the excellent Chapt. 5 submission. Such a captivating way to propel the story forward. And also, congratulations to our anonymous winner of Chapt. 6...a mystery within a mystery! We're so intrigued by this that we've posted a contest about it on our Facebook page. Take a look!

Next, part two, we're out and about again, and would love to meet you and answer your questions about the project and offer writing tips. We'll be presenting at the Pecha Kucha Night Vol. 4 Thurs. 3/10 at 7 p.m. at the Des Moines Social Club. Learn more.

We also plan to host another reading with our fabulous authors soon. If your group would like them to speak at your event, use the contact list above to let us know. Many of our authors and staff would be glad to talk to your class or writing group about the process!

Finally, keep those submissions coming in! The editorial board continues to be amazed at the wealth of talent that strives to put together a new chapter in 21 days. Will you be the next winner? Deadline for Chapt. 7 is March 21st!

Congratulations to C. Michael Cox, our Chapter 4 winner!

The editorial panel was delighted with the way C. Michael delved deeper into the story, intensifying the level of intrigue and providing the next author with many opportunities for exploration. Just what is Emmy's brother up to? Great work, C. Michael!

Now that the holiday celebrations are over, look for more readings from Modern Dickens winners. We'll keep you posted here, on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Meanwhile, back to the quill, pencil, or keyboard. The deadline for Chapter 5 submissions is January 21st.
